Cat 2014 was always going to be my 2nd and last attempt at CAT (As I couldn’t afford another one due to my abysmal academic record) and i couldn’t have taken a better decision than to join Genesis Mentors. I can go on talking about how each mentor at GM is unique ,but GM was special for me due to different reasons and I want any and every CAT aspirant in Pune to know why it would be the same for them as well. I have never been some one who could slog it out for an examination, but the atmosphere at GM was such that it made the prep enjoyable. Midnight study circles, Gk quiz sessions, all-night group study, the focus was always on learning as a group with the right attitude. Camaraderie between the mentors and students helped a great deal, you could always approach them for any specific help that you needed, related to the curriculum or just for encouragement. But the best part is surely what comes after the results. Knowledge sessions and guest lectures are organised to help students crack the GD/PI/WAT stage. Also owing to a relatively smaller batch size , personalized help for interview really makes a difference. There are no words to describe my experience at Genesis Mentors. There are n number of tutors that’ll tell you how to prepare for CAT, but you’ll have a hard time finding a mentor who’ll have faith in you even when you have none for yourself.
I still remember the first day when I joined Genesis Mentors. I was in complete awe of the teaching style of the mentors, it only got better from then on. There were times when I got completely demotivated and started thinking about quitting. I will always be thankful to mentors for what they advised me then. The last 3 months of my preparation were a marathon, the center was all day filled with students giving tests or doing analysis on their laptops. Mock tests are conducted for not just CAT but IIFT, SNAP, XAT and NMAT. The whole level of preparation prepares you for the next big stage in your life. And after your scores there were rigorous sessions explaining about different MBA specializations, GD sessions, and mock interviews. Before the exam or after the exam the faculty is involved with you all the time. My personal feeling was that it was not just me who was preparing but the mentors along with me were equally involved. Preparing for CMAT requires much beyond the theoretical knowledge that we get in the books. The training provided by Genesis Mentors ensured that not only are my concepts lucid but also fast and accurate. I was able to solve most of the questions with ease. The tricks and shortcuts that I learnt in the last phase of my preparation helped me tackle the reasoning as well as the mathematical questions. CMAT, being a three hour paper, tends to drain an aspirant. But with meticulous time management, it will be easy to score in the paper because the questions are not very difficult to crack. A basic revision of all the concepts and learning short cuts and tricks should help you get the coveted high rank in the CMAT exams for grabbing the best college admission letters in Maharashtra.
